Ho Chi Minh Title

Ho Chi Minh Title The Bohemian glass became an integral part of gained tournament title in Vietnam. As a winner of 10th year of ATP tennis tournament in Ho Chie Minh City, Pavel received besides the beautiful cup also a unique present in a form of crystal trophy made in Czech Republic by Bohemia Crystalex Trading, a. s. I was amused when the director of tournament reported during the winner announcement that the Czech player would receive Bohemian glass as a present. I was not the only one who returned home from Vietnam happily in the end. To leave in final such a trophy to a foreigner would have been probably cruel…

Ostrava´s samurai Paya

Ostrava´s samurai Paya The Asian tournament ended for Pavel in his historically greatest success for the present. In the first tournament in Japan he won through as unseeded player in semi-final. Thanks to this result he was not obliged to play qualification of another tournament in Vietnamese Ho Chi Minh City. He gained a special exception from ATP organization “special exame”. It enabled him to enter the main competition. In it, Paya, how the fans called him during the whole tournament, did not hesitate and showed concentrated performance. It brought him into the tournament victory. It is his first ATP tournament title. And in addition, Ostrava has waited to see! It has been 16 years since that Václav Roubíček (except Ivan Lendl) last won ATP tournament in 1991. Now there is again the tennis player from Ostrava who can come through among the world top. It is wonderful feeling to win my first ATP tournament title in my career, but it is clear that I will have to confirm upswing in form in other tournament a ...

STOP- ankle injury

STOP- ankle injury Other trouble attacked Pavel during greatly opened tournament in German Mettmann. In quarter-final in position 7:6 and 2:0 he had to give up after quite short time because of health difficulties with suspicion of ankle fracture. Fortunately, it was only a weak ankle sprain which caused STOP to Pavel for 3 tournaments, including 2 tournaments in Zagreb. I do not want to rush anything, I believe I will be fit and totally prepared above all for tournament in Japan Kyoto and Vietnamese Ho Chi Ming City, which are held 5th March, and 12th March 2007.
